the year in review

Posted: February 23, 2009 in Uncategorized

My wife and I had excellent pre-marital counseling.  One of the pieces of advice our pre-marital counselor (Steve Pettit) gave us was to take at least one weekend a year, get away, and for Anna and I to review our marriage with a fine toothed comb.  We handle things as they arise, but this is to be a more intense focused time.

We review everything from finances, goals, how we are doing expressing each other’s love language, to the more romantic elements of our relationship.

I love this time.  We try to be brutally honest with each other.  It’s not the most fun thing in the world when you hear the things you are not doing so well; but MAN do I love this woman; I want to love her better than I did the year before.

Last year was good, but seriously the best is yet to come.
